May 1st is a special day for all the support staff in school as that day serves as a reminder to students in school of the fact that their lives are made easy in so many different ways because of all that the ‘didis’ and ‘bhaiyas’ do for them.
Students across the school take it upon themselves to thank the support staff and to make them feel special through various initiatives.
Students’ Stalls
Open Day is the day when parents have the opportunity to meet with the teachers to discuss their child’s progress in school. To make use of the high footfall in school towards noble causes many students get together in groups to put up stalls selling eatables, confectionery, lemonade etc or curios made by them from waste material so that the money collected can be contributed to NGO’s engaged in social causes.
White Elephant Sale by parents
This is a sale organized, for charitable purposes, by parents of the school following a collection from the parent community of new, unused items (that may not be of use) and may have been stacked up in their homes.
The school takes part in the annual event ‘One Nation Reading Together’ organised by Scholastic Publishing because for every school that participates in the event, Scholastic donates a certain number of books to an NGO or the library of a needy school.
The school participates in the annual ‘Joy of Giving’, by Design for change, in October every year where as a school community, we extend support to those in need be it the victims of the Sikkim earthquake or our support staff.
Organised in the winter months to reach out to the needy.
A ‘Books Collection Drive’ based on the mantra ‘Each one brings one’ is organised by the school to collect books for 25 underprivileged schools in Mewat, a rural area of Haryana.
